Job summary

East Windsor High School is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in special education or general education settings. You will work individually or in small groups under the direction of the special education teacher, applying ABA methods and helping implement IEP goals.

The role requires collaboration with teachers and service providers, training in PMT, and ability to assist with health-related plans. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits and CT ParaPro exam.
• Ability to read, write, and perform math at a 12th grade level.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in basic computer applications.
• Familiarity with district policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Apply ABA principles to support students with disabilities.
• Reinforce classroom incentive programs to encourage participation.
• Implement individualized behavior plans and targeted strategies.
• Be trained in PMT or district-approved training.
• Provide toileting and incontinence support as needed.
• Assist with health care plans and seizure monitoring as directed.
• Deliver specialized instruction per IEP and coordinate with related service providers.
• Maintain a safe, clean learning environment.
