Job summary

Everett Public Schools seeks an ABA Paraprofessional to support students 1:1, in small groups, and in inclusion settings. You will implement ABA methodologies under supervision of teachers and BCBA's to boost academic, social, and adaptive skills from PreK through grade 8.

Responsibilities include implementing daily program protocols, collecting and graphing skill and behavior data, assisting with ABLLS/VB-MAPP as needed, and supporting daily classroom routines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or higher required.
  • Experience in an urban district preferred.
  • At least one year of data-driven ABA experience required.
  • One year working under a BCBA or approved trainer for a full school year.
  • RBT certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement daily individualized program protocols.
  • Conduct discrimination, skill acquisition, and natural environment training.
  • Collect skill data and understand prompts hierarchies.
  • Graph skill data with equal interval graphs and celeration charts.
  • Implement ongoing behavior intervention plans.
  • Graph behavior data daily.
  • Analyze behavior data for modifications.
  • Use response prompts and stimulus prompts.
  • Observe student behavior regularly.
  • Schedule and conduct observations of student performance.
  • Collect observational data.
  • Report on student progress from graphs and observations.
  • Conduct preference assessments.
  • Implement ABLLS/VB-MAPP as needed.
  • Assist the ABA classroom teacher with routines and activities.
  • Support all domains of learning: academic, social, self-help, communication, motor.
  • Assist with generalization of skills across settings, including inclusion.
  • Support BCBA as needed.
  • Participate in Safety Care training where appropriate.
  • Assist with ADL skills such as walking, feeding, toileting, and transferring as needed.

ABA Paraprofessional
DESCRIPTION

ABA paraprofessionals work with students 1:1, in small groups, and in the inclusion setting in order to implement the
principles of ABA with assigned students. ABA Paraprofessionals generally support students in PreK through grade
8. ABA paraprofessionals will support special education teachers and BCBA's in increasing student's academic skills,
social skills, and adaptive behaviors.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school degree or higher
  • Enjoys working with children and is dedicated to the education of all children
  • Experience working in an urban district.
  • EPS respects linguistic diversity and believes that candidates who speak another language bring value to
  • the district culture and diversity.
  • At least one year experience working in a data-driven, ABA setting
  • One year experience working directly under a BCBA or approved trainer (by the BCBA) for at least one
  • school year in the capacity of ABA paraprofessional.
  • RBT certification preferred but not required
DUTIES

  11. 11.Collect observational data.
  12. 12.Report on student performance (from graphs/observations)

  18. 18.Assist ABA classroom teacher as needed.

  20. 20.Participate in and implement Safety Care training and strategies when appropriate.
  21. 21. Responsible for supporting Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills (i.e. walking, feeding, toileting, and/or transferring), as needed.
