Schedule: Part-Time (10–20 hours/week)

Join our mission to help BCBAs start and grow independent, values-driven ABA practices. At Alpaca Health, we provide modern technology and done-for-you operations to make practice ownership easy and sustainable.

We’re looking for a Credentialing Specialist with deep experience in ABA to join our team and help expand our payer relationships across the country. This is a key operations role focused on securing new contracts with payers in new states, and ensuring that providers are successfully credentialed under both new and existing contracts.

  • Research, initiate, and manage the process of applying for new ABA contracts with both commercial and Medicaid payers in new states
  • Maintain a database of payer contact points, state-specific rules, and status updates
  • Credentialing
  • Manage provider credentialing and re-credentialing for existing contracts (including CAQH, Availity, state portals, etc.)
  • Ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation for each clinician
  • Track expirations, follow up on incomplete files, and resolve any issues that delay provider approval
  • Work closely with our internal admin team and clinic partners to collect required documents and complete applications
  • Communicate progress and barriers to cross-functional teams
  • Create SOPs and checklists for repeatable credentialing workflows

Qualifications

  • Must have ABA-specific credentialing experience (e.g., working with CPT codes 97151–97158, behavioral health networks, and ABA-specific payer requirements)
  • Demonstrated experience credentialing providers with both Medicaid and commercial payers
  • Experience getting new contracts with payers, especially in behavioral health or autism therapy
  • Proficient in CAQH, Availity, and relevant portals
  • Excellent attention to detail and project tracking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple credentialing pipelines at once
  • Experience with payer enrollment in multiple states
  • Familiarity with behavioral health startup operations
  • Previous experience working remotely in a fast-paced environment
