Job summary

Owen Health Care Inc. is seeking an experienced ABA Billing Specialist to manage the complete revenue cycle for ABA and behavioral health services.

You will ensure accurate claim submission, payment posting, denial management, authorization tracking, and AR follow-up in a mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate has at least two years of ABA or behavioral health billing experience and familiarity with Medicaid, DDD, DCF, and commercial plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of ABA, behavioral health, or healthcare billing experience.
• Experience with CentralReach, SimplePractice, Waystar, or comparable systems.
• Knowledge of Medicaid, DDD, DCF, commercial insurance, and managed care billing.
• Strong understanding of ABA CPT codes, modifiers, and documentation requirements.
• Experience with claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and AR follow-up.
• Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit clean electronic claims for ABA and behavioral health services.
• Monitor claims through the revenue cycle to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Post ERAs, reconcile payments, and balance daily deposits.
• Manage accounts receivable and aggressively follow up on balances.
• Investigate, appeal, and resolve denied or underpaid claims.
• Communicate with insurers to resolve billing discrepancies and expedite payment.
• Track authorizations and notify staff of renewals to prevent interruptions.
• Maintain billing records in compliance with payer requirements.
• Produce KPI reports on collections, denials, aging, and trends.
• Identify workflow improvements to boost accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and payer documentation requests.
• Cross-train team members to ensure business continuity.
