Job summary

Breaking Barriers Institute is seeking a Behavior Therapist to provide one-on-one ABA therapy for children and adolescents with ASD and related developmental disabilities. You will implement individualized treatment plans under supervision, collect accurate data, and teach communication, social, and daily living skills in home, clinic, school, and community settings.

Responsibilities include documenting SOAP notes, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and collaborating with the clinical team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in relevant fields.
• RBT certification preferred or willingness to obtain within company timelines.
• Experience with children or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow treatment plans and receive clinical feedback.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with proof of insurance.
• Ability to pass a background check and meet payer requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Implement ABA treatment plans designed by supervising BCBA.
• Provide one-on-one behavioral intervention services.
• Collect data and complete SOAP notes within timelines.
• Teach communication, social, adaptive living, and self-help skills.
• Use BIPs with positive reinforcement and evidence-based strategies.
• Handle challenging behaviors safely while maintaining client dignity.
• Model strategies for caregiver training and generalization.
• Maintain client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Attend supervision meetings, trainings, and company meetings.
• Travel to assigned client locations.
