Job summary

Centria Autism in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking an ABA Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to reduce outstanding AR and improve timely cash collection. You will build relationships with payors, research AR questions with Revenue Cycle and Operations, and ensure claims are supported with proper documentation.

The role requires at least 1 year of AR/billing experience in healthcare, proficiency with Excel, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Position Summary:

The ABA Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist focuses on reducing outstanding accounts receivable and timely cash collection.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Establish strong relationships with payors.
2. Research and resolve AR questions and issues in conjunction with Revenue Cycle and Operations Teams.
3. Research, assemble, and provide the necessary documentation to support claims.
4. Work in close collaboration with Charge Capture, payors, and Operations to ensure collection of funds billed.
5. Support Operations and provide detailed reports of missing documentation.
6. Communicate often and professionally with payor sources, seeking to resolve any outstanding claims.
7. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines ensuring personal health information is secure, accurate, and accessible for billing purposes.
8. Compliance with Centria’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, and Federal and State laws.
9. Responsibility to report violations of Company policies or the Code of Conduct.

$19.00 - $21.00 hourly plus bonus

Work Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of accounts receivable or billing experience in healthcare or medical claims at a payor
• Experience working with a clearinghouse

Equipment and Technology Requirements

• Basic Computer skills
• Working knowledge of laptop/desktop PC
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
• Proficiency in G Suite (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Google Meet)

• Ability to use computers and computer/software programs
• Ability to communicate expressively and receptively

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficiency in PC software, especially spreadsheet programs such a Excel;
• Superb customer service skills;
• Knowledge of billing and AR practices;
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on a timeliness and accuracy;
• Demonstrated positivity and proven success in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment;
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions

• Centria’s office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• Additional time or occasional shifts in schedule may be required to complete the above work or meet company objectives

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, physical requirements such as bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds may be required. This role will require sitting most of the day as well as walking and standing periodically. This role may require close visual acuity on computer screens or monitors and the ability to analyze data and figures on a screen.
