Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking a Senior ETL Developer to design, build, and maintain Ab Initio graphs, plans, and analytics solutions. The role leads report architecture, optimizes SQL performance, ensures data integrity, and collaborates with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements, while estimating effort and delivering on SDLC commitments.

The candidate will lead development, mentor others, and ensure timely delivery, with hands-on Ab Initio and Oracle SQL experience,

Qualifications

• 3+ Year Oracle PL/SQL or SQL experience.
• 5+ Year ETL Experience (Ab Initio or Informatica). Hands-on experience in developing complex ETL applications.
• Ab Initio experience is required.
• Proficiency with Oracle PL/SQL or SQL, SQL tuning, writing packages, triggers, functions and procedures.
• Strong UNIX knowledge.
• Experience with data conversion / migration.
• Excellent trouble shooting and debugging skills.
• Worked in Onsite - offshore model.

Job description

Seeking an experienced Senior ETL Developer to design, build, and maintain complex Abinitio Graphs, Plans, and analytics solutions using Ab initio tools to drive business decisions. They should be able to lead report architecture, optimize SQL query performance, ensure data integrity, collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and provide estimate efforts, and ensure timely delivery on committed items and to project manage all aspects of software development according to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding Business Requirements and Functional Requirements provided by Business Analysts and to convert into Technical Design Documents and leading the development team to deliver on those requirements.
• Work closely with Cross Functional Teams e.g. Business Analysis, Product Assurance, Platforms and Infrastructure, Business Office, Controls and Production Support.
• Identify and proactively resolve issues that could impact system performance, reliability, and usability.
• Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how the development function integrates within overall business/technology to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
• Work proactively & independently to address development requirements and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to address risks
• Ability to understand complex data problems, analyze and provide generic solutions compatible with existing Infrastructure.
• Design, Implement, Integrate and test new features.
• Take responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions. Mentoring other developers on their implementation as needed, and organizing review activities like design review, code review and technical document review etc. to ensure successful delivery.
• Explore existing application systems, determines areas of complexity, potential risks to successful implementation.
• Contribute to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to software architecture, software development process and new technologies etc.
• Ability to build relationships with business and technology stakeholders.

Knowledge/Experience:
