Job summary

The California State University, Stanislaus invites applications for a temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant in the ASAP (Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian Student Achievement Program). Under supervision, you will support planning, coordination, and evaluation of signature AANHPI programs and events, assist in coordinating workshops, and help welcome students and campus partners to foster belonging and engagement.

Position requires enrollment in registered courses.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn and perform assigned work.

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge around social justice issues.
• Proven strength in logistical and programming skills.
• Previous student leadership experience.
• Bilingual skills; strong computer skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordinating, promoting, implementing, and evaluating Signature Events; supports 1-2 programs each semester.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and meetings with pro-staff.
• Support Warrior Cross Cultural & Community Engagement & Belonging programming.
• Inform, recruit, and motivate students to attend events.
• Serve as an AANHPI liaison to student groups and campus partners.
• Work with departments on committees and events.
• Maintain the Warrior Cross Cultural Center/Space and assist open/close procedures.
• Greet and engage students and staff about services offered.
• Participate in training and presentations with community and campus partners.
• Table at campus-wide events (Orientation, Open House, etc.).
• Serve on campus-wide committees as assigned.
• Foster belonging, inclusivity, and community.
• Other duties as assigned.
