The Small Business Project Manager at Alera Group is responsible for leading, organizing, and tracking various projects associated with the overall execution of the vision for small business with projects focused on operational streamlining, including client data management, account recoding within our agency management systems (AMS), carrier service center transitions, and consolidation efforts with carriers and wholesalers. The ideal candidate will bring insurance industry knowledge, strong project management skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with both internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight: Plan, lead, and execute projects across the P&C Small Business operations landscape, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Client List Management: Standardize and maintain accurate client records to support operational clarity and downstream efficiency.
  • Account Recoding: Oversee the recoding of P&C accounts within AMS platforms to reflect updated producer or team assignments, optimizing service structure and reporting accuracy.
  • Policy Migration: Manage the transfer of P&C policies into carrier service centers, coordinating with internal service teams and carriers to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Carrier Collaboration: Serve as the liaison with insurance carriers to facilitate producer code consolidation and streamline service processes.
  • Carrier & Wholesaler Consolidation: Support broader strategic initiatives to consolidate carrier and wholesaler relationships, ensuring a more efficient and unified approach across the P&C book of business.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Work closely with producers, account management teams, and leadership to keep projects on track and stakeholders informed.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear documentation and provide regular progress updates, highlighting key risks, milestones, and achievements.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of project management experience in Property & Casualty insurance or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of agency management systems (e.g., AMS360, Applied Epic, or similar)
  • Familiarity with P&C insurance carriers, producer codes, and service center models
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management tools such as Asana, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project is a plus
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred but not required
