The role you’ll contribute:

Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director, the Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with physician’s orders, department policies, and procedures. Performs diagnostic tests of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders. Participates in CQI/Performance improvement activities within the department.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Maintains knowledge of various oxygen delivery methods and equipment. Assesses possible side effects to oxygen delivery.
  • Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understanding their purposes and possible side effects.
  • Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators and performs critical care duties such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
  • Performs arterial punctures to obtain blood samples for gas analysis, understanding potential complications and contraindications.

Qualifications:

  • 2-year Associate Degree
  • Internship/Clinical experience with course of study
  • Two or more years of experience
  • Registrations – Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist, CPR
