The role you’ll contribute:

Reporting to the Practice Manager and under the supervision of Providers, the Medical Assistant cares for patients and performs a variety of patient care activities. Adheres to state, federal, and organizational guidelines to ensure quality care and patient safety with support from the Clinical Excellence team. Plays a key role in maintaining organization and facilitating patient flow. Actively participates in delivering outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

  • Enhances patient experience through excellent customer service
  • Documents and reports procedures and assessments clearly and accurately in accordance with department policy
  • Assesses patients during clinical check-in, documents medical information and vital signs, and screens for signs of abuse or neglect
  • Performs and administers treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments as ordered by providers, verifying as needed
  • Responds appropriately to clinical emergencies and triage situations
  • Conducts diagnostic and occupational medicine testing, including EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, pulse oximetry, and forensic testing in accordance with DOT and Florida guidelines

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of related work experience OR completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with externship
  • CPR Certification
  • Maintains BAT and Drug Screen Certifications after hire
  • Current certification by one of the recognized certifying bodies (AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NHA, AAH, NPS, NCMA), and ongoing maintenance of certification

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous urgent care or emergency department experience
