Highland Park Presbyterian Church seeks an experienced A.V. Technician to support the Creative Team in delivering high-quality services and events. You will handle audio, video, slides, lyrics, basic lighting, camera tasks, recording, video switching, and editing to ensure smooth productions.

With 2 years in similar roles and aBachelor’s degree or equivalent, you will maintain equipment, prepare spaces, and troubleshoot live issues while collaborating with staff across the campus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide A/V support for meetings and events across campus, including audio, video, slides, lyrics, lighting, camera operation, recording, video switching, editing, and YouTube uploads.
  • Manage and maintain all Production equipment alongside Creative Team members.
  • Ensure spaces are prepared and ready for events and recordings.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Attend required meetings and respond to scheduling invites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

A.V. Technician

Department: Creative Team

Exempt Or Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Production Director

Direct Supervisor of: N/A

Tier: Implementation

Work Schedule: Estimated 20-25 hours/week –

Sunday 8:00 am - 12:30 pm, Tuesday-Friday scheduled as needed for events

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The Creative Team seeks to advance and support the vision of Highland Park Presbyterian Church by inspiring our congregation and guests to take their next steps in their faith at HP Pres and informing them how to do so.

The Production Technician supports the Creative Team and the vision for Highland Park Presbyterian Church through technical excellence by minimizing technical disruptions through strong preparation, clear communication, and high-quality execution of events.

DESIRED RESULTS/IMPACT OF THIS POSITION
  • Guests experience thoughtfully prepared and well-supported services that allow them to engage meaningfully with HP Pres and feel inspired to take the next steps in their faith.
  • Staff at HP Pres are supported in their production needs, executing events and services, with a service-oriented spirit of collaboration and care.
  • Able to quickly solve problems as they arise in a live production setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide A/V support for various meetings throughout campus, including but not limited to audio, video, slides, lyrics, basic lighting, basic camera operation, basic recording, basic video switching, video editing, YouTube uploads, etc.
  • Along with other Creative Team members, manages and maintains all Production equipment.
  • Ensures that spaces are prepared and ready for events and recordings.
  • Troubleshoots basic technical issues.
  • Contributor in all areas of Production as needed.
  • Attend all required meetings, communicates scheduling conflicts with team, and responds quickly to calendar invites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Balances grace and accountability while teaching staff and members how best to be supported by the Production Team.
  • Actively engages with the staff at HP Pres to build healthy relationships across departments and grow staff culture.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 2 years in similar roles.
  • Familiar with the following equipment: Microsoft Teams, Planning Center, Yamaha CL5, Yamaha TF1, ProPresenter, Ross Video Switcher, GrandMA Lighting Console, and all Mac Products.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent lifting under 50 lbs.
