Job summary

Bob Rohrman Hyundai in Lafayette, IN is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician who can diagnose and repair the full range of vehicle systems without supervision. You will lead by example, support fellow technicians, and interface with customers as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 4–7 years of automotive repair experience.
  • ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Own basic tools required.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle concerns.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete accurate multi-point inspections and document findings.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and communicate repair recommendations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; participate in training.

A bumper to bumper, master certified technician capable of diagnosing and repairing any system of theautomobile without supervision. In most cases, are leaders in the shop and chosen to support the developmentof other technicians when needed. At times, may be called upon to interface with customers in variouscapacities.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle concerns
  • Perform maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer specifications
  • Complete accurate and thorough multi-point inspections
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle concerns
  • Clearly document the cause of each concern and the correction performed
  • Communicate repair recommendations to service advisors
  • Perform quality-control checks and verify repairs
  • Complete required manufacturer training and certifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Protect customers’ vehicles while they are in your care
Qualifications
  • Previous automotive repair experience is preferred
  • Hyundai, Genesis, or dealership experience is a plus
  • ASE certifications are preferred but not required
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must provide your own basic tools
  • Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
  • Willingness to complete Hyundai training and maintain required certifications

Hyundai welcomes experienced technicians from other OEMs. The program allows technicians with training from an industry-recognized source, other than Hyundai, to test out of certain Hyundai instructor-led technical training courses, provided they meet certain requirements.
