Job summary

Sony Music Entertainment seeks a Manager, A&R with AWAL to identify and acquire recording artists, songs, and producers while leading artist development across genres. This role reports to the President and Head of A&R, AWAL North America, and involves attending live shows, providing feedback, and coordinating label relationships.

You will work closely with marketing, publicity, and sales teams to drive project success, manage budgets, and ensure timely completion of records.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of music or entertainment industry experience with a track record of finding new and emerging artists/talent.
• Knowledge of steps in making and releasing a record.
• Experience working with artists from various genres.
• Proactive self-starter with strong problem solving, social and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend live shows and events to discover talent.
• Provide comprehensive feedback to senior A&R executives.
• Propose new artists for AWAL and coordinate label relationships.
• Research artist websites and social profiles to identify opportunities.
• Find producers and studios; plan recording budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate asset delivery and collaborate with marketing, publicity, and sales teams.
• Develop relationships with industry insiders to build opportunities.
