Location: Jamaica, NY
Salary: $35-$45 per hour
Job Duties
  1. Read, interpret, plan & work from Structural Repair Manuals, engineering drawings, and Service Bulletins.
  2. Assist, guide, train, oversee, and evaluate others.
  3. Manage aircraft scheduled/assigned job budgets with attentiveness and knowledge.
  4. Meet completion timelines.
  5. Complete skin repairs requiring doublers or triplers with complex contours.
  6. Perform complex repairs and replacements involving substantial disassembly, such as wing spar, keel beam, or other support structures.
  7. Document all work performed per manuals and regulations.
  8. Adhere to FEAM General Work Requirements.
  9. Follow environmental, health, and safety policies, participate in 5-S activities, and perform work safely and efficiently.
  10. Remove/install aircraft components as needed.
  11. Perform minor structural repairs on composite components.
  12. Assist in inspecting hidden damage on aircraft structures.
  13. Support complex structural repairs on or off aircraft.
  14. Operate ground support equipment as required.
  15. Assist with aircraft component repairs.
  16. Perform mechanical/electrical removals and installations.
  17. Support maintenance at off-site locations.
  18. Inspect confined areas of the airframe.
  19. Assist in designing, modifying, and welding metal fixtures.
  20. Provide time estimates for tasks as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  1. Ability to read and write English.
  2. Pass airport security background checks and travel as required.
  3. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  4. High school diploma or equivalent.
  5. Current valid Driver’s License.
  6. Current valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
  7. Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, climb, balance, bend, or crawl, sometimes at heights.
  8. Ability to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds frequently.
  9. Awareness of working near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals, and exposure to loud noises.
  10. Ability to operate equipment and read technical information.
  11. Exposure to various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 to 5 years of experience working with aircraft structures preferred.
