Virgin Galactic is seeking a Spacewrench 2 to join the Flight Maintenance team in support of our mission. You will complete classroom and on-the-job training and perform maintenance on space flight system vehicles onsite.

Relocation assistance to Las Cruces, NM is available, with 4/10 schedule options and on-site work. The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent, FAA A&P certificate (or ability to obtain), and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• FAA A&P certificate is required or must be able to obtain.
• Must have or obtain a valid driver's license.
• Experience with aircraft maintenance and safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes the classroom and On-the-Job training.
• Accomplishes assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair work on the space flight system vehicles.
• Prepares work records as needed for review in connection with work performed.
• Studies the maintenance manual content for vehicle systems and structures.
• Starts the initial service to assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair work on the space flight system vehicles.
• Integrates into the teams that check, dismantles, adjusts, overhauls, repairs, fabricates, removes and installs all parts of the aircraft, including propulsion systems, avionics equipment & instruments, fuel systems, ECS, life support, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Performs machine tool work and/or composite repair work in connection with the above aircraft maintenance tasks.
• Inspects parts, sub-assemblies and completed assemblies to the extent necessary to progress maintenance work.
• Works on base maintenance type workloads for the spaceline vehicles.
• You may be asked to perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
