Description

INTRODUCTION

The A&P Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the company's aircraft in a safe and airworthy condition, in compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), manufacturer maintenance manuals, and company policies. This role involves inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of aircraft systems and structures to ensure optimal performance and safety. Field assignments may be required to support flight operations and customer demands.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations on aircraft and aircraft components as per approved maintenance programs, company policies, and FAA regulations.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine inspections on airframes, engines, systems, and components, identifying wear, defects, leaks, corrosion, and damage.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural issues based on pilots’ reports and manuals.
  • Reassemble and reinstall components, ensuring alignment with manufacturer specifications.
  • Document maintenance logs, inspection reports, and related records in a clear and timely manner.
  • Use precision measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Perform engine removals, installations, and tests.
  • Assist in modifying aircraft structures and systems per engineering orders, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Support field operations and emergency maintenance requirements, with up to 25% travel.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment; adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, ethics, and company values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, maintenance, and inspection practices, along with proficiency in troubleshooting related systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations applicable to maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team, in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have FAA-issued Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
  • Electrical, technical, or mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record per company policy.
  • Compliance with FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.

Preferred:

  • Two or more years of hands-on experience working with the company’s aircraft type.
  • Prior field maintenance or flight support experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work primarily performed in a hangar or outdoor ramp environment.
  • Exposure to aircraft noise, moving mechanical parts, and hazardous materials.
  • Requires standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders/lifts, and lifting up to 80 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing, and hearing to conduct business.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Travel up to 25% to support field maintenance or customer sites.
  • Smoke-free, drug- and alcohol-free workplace.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Starting hourly base pay range (DOE): $28.53 - $33.37
  • Qualifying hourly pay incentives: $6.00 regional, $1.00 A&P license
  • Expected starting hourly total: $31.53 to $36.37
  • Annual increases and additional incentives once qualified
