K-Bay Air in Homer, Alaska is seeking a year-round full-time A&P Mechanic to join our on-demand 135 operation. We offer a 4-day work week with seasonal longer days and weekends, including on-call mornings and 10-hour shifts when posted.
Summer duties include 100-hour inspections, fixing squawks, and moving/fueling planes; winter focuses on heavy maintenance, engine changes, interiors, and fleet upgrades. Housing is available; must pass pre-employment drug testing and hold an A&P certificate.
K-Bay Air in beautiful Homer Alaska has a fleet of Cessna 206s on large tires and DHC-2 Beavers on floats. We are an on-demand 135 operator and primarily do seasonal tourism-related work performing beach landings, bear viewing tours, and sightseeing. Homer is a beautiful seaside town on the road system with lots of recreational opportunities.
Currently, we are looking to hire a year-round full-time mechanic. We offer a 4 day a week work schedule, Summers we work longer days and your schedule will include weekends (an example would be Fri.-Mon. on call in the mornings then working up to 10 hours in the afternoon/evening then off Tue, Wed &Thu) In the winter the work schedule is 32 hours a week 8 hours a day Tue-Fri. We would be open to discussing other schedule possibilities as well
Summer duties would primarily be doing 100-hour inspections and fixing squawks as they arise with secondary duties of moving/fueling planes and maintaining the hanger, dock and fueling facilities as time permits. During the winter we do heavy maintenance and fleet upgrades such as engine changes, interiors, component changes etc.
We Have limited company housing available but feel free to inquire. The successful candidate would be someone who takes pride in making the fleet a little better and enjoys being an essential part of the team. Must be able to work independently when required and take direction well.
