Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, replacements, inspections, and maintenance on aircraft and key components.

  • Follow technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications to complete maintenance activities.
  • Perform advanced repair and maintenance of aircraft airframes and engines.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized hangar/work environment.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic III for a 12-month contract opportunity in Hagerstown, MD. This position is ideal for an experienced aviation maintenance professional with an active FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and strong hands‑on experience repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs, replacements, inspections, and maintenance on aircraft and key aircraft components
  • Diagnose mechanical and functional issues and replace defective or faulty parts
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of aircraft systems and components
  • Utilize technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications to complete maintenance activities
  • Perform advanced repair and maintenance of aircraft airframes and engines
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance comply with applicable aviation standards and safety requirements
  • Properly utilize tools and equipment required for aircraft diagnosis and repair
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized hangar/work environment
Required Qualifications:
  • Active and current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5+ years of relevant experience; higher‑level education may substitute for experience, and related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Advanced experience repairing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications
  • Must have your own tools in good working order
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work location
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Ability to pass and maintain Class 3 physical requirements, including a hearing test
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform the physical requirements associated with aircraft maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience
  • Aerospace & Defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military experience
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS
  • Ability to travel regularly and/or work different shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed

This is a safety-sensitive aviation position that may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, loud noise, fumes, hazardous chemicals/materials, aircraft equipment, and heavy machinery.
