Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. Fort Lauderdale is seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Bell rotorcraft. You will work on aircraft inspections, repairs, maintenance, fabrications, installations, and post-maintenance tests to support Bell customers at our Fort Lauderdale facility. FAA A&P certification and 4+ years in helicopter maintenance are required, with Bell experience preferred.

  • Experience with Bell helicopters (such as 429, 505, 407, 206) preferred.
  • Experience in a part 145 environment preferred.

Bell Maintenance Team – Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Starting base of $37.10/hr. Highly qualified candidates with extensive industry-specific experience may be eligible for a higher starting wage.

Bring your experience and become part of a dedicated maintenance team, supporting Bell customers out of our OEM Facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In this position you’ll serve as part of a “one stop shop” for a variety of commercial rotorcraft services, performing tasks from small avionics upgrades to complete aircraft rebuilds. You’ll be able to demonstrate your technical abilities by performing tasks as aircraft inspections, repairs, maintenance, fabrications, installations, and post-maintenance test flights.

What you’ll be doing as a A&P Mechanic (Experienced)
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on airframes and engines in accordance with FAA 145 requirements.
  • Perform major sheet metal repairs and fabricate sheet metal and composite parts when needed.
  • Additional tasks such as installing kits and assisting with fly-offs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with all instructions, regulatory requirements, and company policies, and properly document all work performed.
What You Need To Be Successful
  • FAA A&P Certificate.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience with helicopter maintenance. Maintenance experience with Bell helicopters (such as 429, 505, 407, 206) is preferred.
  • Experience in a part 145 environment is preferred.
  • Technical expertise and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, and to exercise strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, strong sense of responsibly, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to successfully collaborate and coordinate with others with attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions closely with good organization skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.
  • Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
