Job description

Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 10-hour shifts (60 hours/week)

We are seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic to support flightline maintenance and flight-test activity in Mojave, California. This is a hands-on opportunity for a seasoned technician who can bring aircraft-specific experience to the team and contribute with minimal ramp-up.

The work supports a unique special-mission atmospheric research aircraft program centered on a Bombardier Challenger 850 research jet. The Challenger 850 shares its airframe heritage with the CRJ 200 platform and is equipped for airborne scientific research with specialized instrumentation and aircraft modifications. The maintenance team plays a critical role in keeping the aircraft mission-ready for flight-test and flightline operations.

This role is well suited to an independent A&P professional who is comfortable troubleshooting on the flightline, maintaining aircraft availability, and supporting a specialized aircraft operation where quality, documentation, and responsiveness matter.

What You Will Do

You will perform flightline maintenance and support flight-test operations on a specialized Bombardier aircraft platform. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and correcting mechanical, electrical, and systems discrepancies; completing inspections and scheduled or unscheduled maintenance in accordance with approved data and company procedures; documenting work accurately; and working closely with maintenance leadership and the broader operations team to maintain aircraft readiness.

Because this aircraft supports a research mission and carries specialized equipment, the role offers a strong fit for technicians who are comfortable working around modified aircraft systems and who bring sound electrical, avionics, or systems troubleshooting judgment.

What You Bring

You hold a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate and have demonstrated hands-on aircraft maintenance experience. Direct CRJ 200 experience is strongly preferred. Relevant Bombardier platform experience on the Challenger 600, Challenger 800, and/or Challenger 850 is also highly valued.

The ideal candidate has recent flightline, line-maintenance, or flight-test support experience and can work with limited aircraft-specific training. Practical avionics, aircraft electrical, or systems troubleshooting experience is preferred, particularly where it complements a strong mechanical maintenance background. You should be dependable, safety-focused, and confident producing high-quality maintenance documentation in an active operational environment.
