POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: A&P Mechanic C

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Maintenance

Location: Ardmore, Oklahoma

POSITION SUMMARY:

The A&P Mechanic C performs basic aircraft maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks under close supervision. This role supports the maintenance team by executing routine work in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and technical data. This is an entry-level, developmental role intended to build foundational aircraft maintenance experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Perform assigned maintenance tasks including removals, installations, cleaning, servicing, and basic troubleshooting.
  2. Follow written task cards, technical manuals, and work instructions precisely.
  3. Assist higher-level mechanics in performing inspections, repairs, and system checks.
  4. Document all work performed in accordance with company, customer, and FAA standards.
  5. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  6. Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  7. Participate in OJT and required training to develop technical proficiency.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate required.
  • 0-2 years of aircraft maintenance experience (military or civilian).
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft systems and standard practices.
  • Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret tech manuals.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATH ABILITY:

This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Microsoft Office Suite, Database Software, Inventory Software, and Order Processing Software.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to travel at relatively short notice for short periods. This position requires varied work shifts.

  • Physical exertion: pulling, bending, pushing, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting / carrying of containers, equipment, etc. up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
  • May work inside or outside of maintenance hangar.
  • This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The ability to work various shifts which may include evening and weekend hours.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste and smell.
  • The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
