Job summary

Aviation Service Partners (ASP) is seeking an experienced A&P Line Maintenance Technician to support Birmingham, AL airport operations on the flight line. This role focuses on on-call and scheduled line maintenance to keep aircraft moving safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include examining, repairing, replacing and testing aircraft components per manufacturer manuals and FAA requirements, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and timely execution.

Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial or DoD aircraft.
  • Knowledge of FAA maintenance procedures.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

We are seeking an experienced A&P Line Maintenance Technician to support daily airline operations in Birmingham, Alabama (BHM). This position focuses on on-call and scheduled line maintenance, supporting multiple arrivals and departures with a strong emphasis on safety, response time, and execution

What You’ll Be Doing:

The A&P Mechanic examines, repairs, removes & replaces, assembles, and tests aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices, and following the appropriate Aircraft & Component Manuals and manufacturer’s specifications.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Valid A&P License
  • Previous lead experience.
  • Experience with Commercial or DoD Aircraft.
  • Technical data or work package instructions; experience using power or pneumatic hand tools.
  • Demonstrates correct understanding of routine aspects of work.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  • Skilled in repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining equipment.
  • Knowledge of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance procedures
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend manufacturer and FAA-approved work package instructions; ability to inspect and install arts/components.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
  • As required by the position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 “Respirator Protection” regulations with no restrictions that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator.
  • Employees will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
  • Commitment to company values and compliance with department norms, policies, directives, and procedures.

  • Must have the minimum tools as required.
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
