Qualifications

Job description

At StandardAero, we’re dedicated to solving the aviation industry's most complex challenges with ingenuity and expertise. Our Augusta, GA MRO facility is not just a place to work; it’s a hub of innovation and growth. With a significant $33 million expansion underway, we’re doubling footprint in the coming year. Our facility specializes in Business Aviation, focusing on 22 models of aircraft on the Airframe side while our Engine Shop performs comprehensive overhauls on Honeywell HTF7000 and TFE731 engines, APUs, and performs diagnostics in our state-of-the-art Test Cell.

Our Airframe Inspector ensures the airworthiness and safety of aircraft structures by performing detailed inspections during maintenance, repair, and modifications. They verify compliance with FAA regulations, technical manuals, and quality standards while documenting findings and certifying aircraft for return to service. Our teams specialize across Textron (Hawker), Embraer (Legacy / Praetor / Phenom), Bombardier (Learjet /Challenger), Dassault (Falcon).

What to expect in this role:

  • Inspects all types of aircraft (including engines, electrical instruments, structures, controls, environmental control systems, landing gear, accessories, etc.) before, during, and after maintenance
  • Determines the serviceability of aircraft systems, parts, and components using precision measuring guides, gauges, instruments, measuring devices, magnification, and non-destructive testing (if appropriately certified).
  • Accomplish preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspection of all articles repaired, maintained, inspected, or altered by the facility.
  • Provides procedural guidance to technicians and delegated inspectors.
  • Trains and assists technicians in proper work procedures and practices.
  • Monitors work in progress to ensure proper paperwork, procedures, techniques, and methods as prescribed by maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, approved engineering documents, and other FAA approved data are used.
  • Documents inspection results in inspection paperwork and log books. Accomplishes final review of work order documentation prior to final release of articles. Ensures that work performed is accurately reflected on the work order.
  • Researches logbooks, and prepares logbook entries and sign-offs for approval for Return to Service (RTS).
  • Must be up-to-date on scope of required maintenance and inspection for customers and coordinates efforts to ensure a timely turnaround.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Experience inspecting corporate/business aviation aircraft.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certification, experience or training.
  • Ability to train and mentor technicians.
  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable A&P experience with the aforementioned aircraft.
