Job summary

FEAM Aero in Cincinnati, OH is hiring a Quality Control Inspector responsible for determining the airworthiness of maintenance work. You will oversee inspections of aircraft components, review logs, and ensure compliance with procedures to support safe operations.

The role requires FAA A&P certification, 3+ years in aviation maintenance, and ability to work varied hours including nights and weekends. Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge/experience of 14 CFR Part 145 & 121 operations and environment.
  • Minimum three years of experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Willingness to work irregular schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Must be a US citizen or hold a green card (form I551).

Responsibilities

  • Performing inspection functions for aircraft, including power plant, materials parts, and sub-assemblies.
  • Reviewing aircraft and engine logbooks at all checks and listing all pilot reports and deferred maintenance items on the appropriate work cards.
  • Performing required inspection functions during all checks such as airframe and engine inspections called out on routine work cards.
  • Checking the work performed by technicians during "work acceptance" functions for conformity to acceptable technical and workmanship standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector and/or Director of Quality.

Responsibilities

The Quality Control Inspector reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for the efficient and economic determination of the airworthiness of the aircraft maintenance work assigned to them. He/She will contribute to company safety by maintaining high standards of aeronautical workmanship and inspection standards. The Quality Control Inspector will administer all aspects of the quality control program including:

  • Performing inspection functions for aircraft, including power plant, materials parts, and sub-assemblies.
  • Reviewing aircraft and engine logbooks at all checks and listing all pilot reports and deferred maintenance items on the appropriate work cards.
  • Performing required inspection functions during all checks such as airframe and engine inspections called out on routine work cards.
  • Being thoroughly familiar with all inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used in their area of responsibility.
  • Maintaining proficiency as required by the Repair Station Training Program Manual.
  • Identifying, controlling, segregating, and maintaining all stock and tools as designated by the Director of Quality.
  • Monitoring all aircraft inspection records and forms for proper completion of all entries.
  • Recording discrepancies requiring corrective action during "Preliminary Inspection" functions.
  • Identifying Required Inspection Items (RII) as defined by the customer’s General Maintenance Manual (GMM) or Operation Procedures Manual.
  • Checking the work performed by technicians during "work acceptance" functions for conformity to acceptable technical and workmanship standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector and/or Director of Quality.
Requirements/Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Knowledge/experience of 14 CFR Part 145 & 121 operations and environment.
  • FAA A&P certificate required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Willingness to work irregular schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Must be a US citizen or hold a green card (form I551).
Preferred Qualifications
  • General Familiarization on B757, B767, B747, and Airbus 330.
  • Experience with Quality Control, inspection techniques, document control, corrective and preventative actions, continuous improvement, risk management, and supplier reviews preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • High degree of proficiency with MS Office products (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work under adverse conditions in a production/aircraft maintenance environment.
