Job summary

Omega Protein is seeking an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic in Abbeville, LA to ensure airworthy aircraft and compliance with FAA regulations. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and coordinating with flight operations to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, documentation, and maintaining safety standards while working with a team of maintenance personnel and pilots.

Qualifications

• FAA A&P certificate is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service instructions.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license if applicable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing on company aircraft.
• Inspect airframes, engines, propellers, landing gear, flight controls, fuel systems, electrical, hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine-related problems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts usage, and logbook entries.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other maintenance personnel on priorities and availability.
• Follow FAA regulations, manuals, and company procedures.
