Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient consults and ER coverage.
• Perform laparoscopic procedures for abdominal cases.
• Conduct GI endoscopy (upper, lower, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy).
• Treat adult general surgery and trauma patients.
• Manage vascular procedures including aneurysm repairs.
• Position includes 48-hour shifts and travel coordination.

• Friday - Saturday, 7 am - 7 am -- 48-hour shift
• ~20 patients seen per 24 hours
• Call only -- inpatient consults and emergency room coverage
• Adult general surgery and trauma patients
• Laparoscopic surgery required -- appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty
• GI endoscopy required -- upper, lower, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy
• Vascular surgery skills required -- aneurysm repairs, arterial bypass
• Chest tube and central line insertion required
