Job summary

UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies seeks an Ammunition & Explosives Handling Lead to manage on-site operations at SWFPAC and MCSFBn logistics, ensuring safe storage, handling, and transit of Class 1 ammunition.

The role requires leadership of a technical team, strict adherence to NAVSEA OP 5 standards, and certification management for explosives-handling personnel, with prevailing security clearances and on-site work at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor WA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in military ordnance handling or A&E storage/transport.
• 1–2 years in direct team lead or supervisory role.
• Enrollment in PRP and ability to meet medical surveillance requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Office and strong written/oral communication.
• Ability to pass security clearance and work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians and clerks in explosives handling and storage operations.
• Oversee ECMs and optimize magazine utilization and inventory accuracy.
• Coordinate secure routing and escorts for munitions within the region.
• Ensure compliance with NAVSEA OP 5, NAVSUP P-805, and DOT regulations.
• Validate ledger entries in OIS to align physical stock with records.
• Audit vehicles and carriers for proper blocking, bracing, and placarding.
• Administer QUAL/CERT boards for explosives handling personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
