Job summary

Cypress Lake Solutions, LLC seeks a part-time Ammunition and Explosives (A&E) Logistics SME to support the AvMC Fires Directorate at Redstone Arsenal, AL. You will coordinate A&E shipments, maintain inventory accountability, and support safe storage and handling practices.

Collaborating with ASP, QASAS, and other safety and transportation offices, you will ensure compliance with DoD/DOT requirements while preparing shipping documents and supporting audits.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling and shipping ammunition and explosives under DoD and DOT requirements.
  • Experience managing large, high-value A&E stockpiles in AMCATS.
  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Cypress Lake Solutions, LLC is seeking a part-time Ammunition and Explosives (A&E) Logistics SME to support the Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) Fires Directorate. You will coordinate A&E shipments, maintain inventory accountability, and support safe storage and handling practices. Working closely with logistics, transportation, surveillance, and safety personnel, you will help ensure ammunition and explosives are available and properly managed for research, development, test, and evaluation purposes.

This position supports the U.S. Army DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center (AvMC) Fires Directorate at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, neighboring Huntsville, AL.


What You’ll Do



  • Coordinate shipments from request through movement. Support inbound and outbound A&E shipments, working with Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) personnel, Quality Assurance Specialists (Ammunition Surveillance) (QASAS), and the Logistics Readiness Center’s inbound and outbound freight sections.

  • Maintain reliable stockpile accountability. Use the Aviation and Missile Command Ammunition Tracking System (AMCATS) to manage inventory and supporting records for A&E stored across magazines and operating buildings.

  • Reconcile inventories and resolve discrepancies. Coordinate and validate monthly inventories, investigate differences, and maintain documentation that supports audits and regulatory reviews.

  • Prepare shipment and turn-in documentation. Complete and coordinate requisitions, shipping documents, inbound control number requests, MCN requests, Requests to Ship.

  • Review and coordinate Interim Hazard Classifications (IHC).

  • Support safe storage and facility operations. Conduct and coordinate spot inspections addressing explosives safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, support facility licensing, and track corrective actions through resolution.

  • Keep stakeholders informed. Coordinate logistics and compliance issues with supporting organizations and brief leadership on findings, outstanding actions, and recommended solutions.

  • Applicants must meet one of the following combinations, with experience relevant to the duties of this position:

    • High school diploma or GED with at least 15 years of relevant experience.

    • Bachelor’s degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience.

    • Master’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.



  • Practical experience handling and shipping ammunition and explosives under DoD and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.

  • Experience managing large, high-value A&E stockpiles in AMCATS and conducting inventories and audits.

  • The ability to coordinate across ASP, QASAS, transportation offices, Defense Ammunition Center (DAC), AMCOM and AvMC Safety offices, and other command and local organizations.

  • Working proficiency with DA Form 581; DD Forms 1149, 1348-1, and 626; TB 700-2; MIL-STD-129; DOT regulations; and IHC requirements.

  • Expertise in storage compatibility, net explosive weight limits, occupational safety, and corrective action management.

  • A demonstrated ability to organize munitions support around customer requirements for production, testing, and maintenance.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and either possess or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.


Work Schedule



  • Part-time, as-needed basis

  • Anticipated average workload of approximately 30 hours per week
