Overview Artificial intelligence (AI) is a significant growth enabler for a diversity of organizations – providing enhanced capabilities, business innovations, and strategic advantages. Robust and reliable machine learning (ML) operations (MLOps) models and processes are paramount to the development of safe, secure, and trustworthy AI technologies. The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a high energy professional with subject matter expertise in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to support the development of AI solutions and products for sale to commercial customers.
The strategic solutions architect will serve as a technical expert for the Astris AI sales team and support the LAIC AI Foundations team and product portfolio, focusing on a broad range of projects across the LAIC. This individual will provide advanced technical support and guidance, ensuring clients receive the best AI solutions tailored to their needs. They will be an expert in various AI technologies, including Generative AI, AI/ML platforms for engineers, and consulting/professional services, reporting to the LAIC VP of AI Foundations and Commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a technical expert for the Astris AI sales team and support the AI Foundations team, providing advanced technical support and guidance
• Translate client business challenges into technical solutions via system architecture design
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and technical discussions to support sales efforts
• Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and develop tailored AI solutions
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to CIOs, CTOs, and individual technical professionals within client environments
• Conduct product and capability demonstrations plus technical presentations to clients
• Assist in preparing technical proposals and documentation
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI technologies and integrate them into client solutions
• Relay client feedback to the technical teams based on customer interactions and market trends
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
• Own major technical development efforts, develop new system architectures, and brief internal and external customers

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $177,500 - $313,030. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
