Job summary

Trinity Plastics Inc. in Lewistown, PA is seeking a Material Handler C to facilitate the movement of raw materials, cardboard, chips and scrap for the Extrusion Department. You will support production by organizing materials and ensuring timely deliveries.

The role requires basic math, familiarity with pallet types, basic truck inspection, and adherence to SOPs, safety guidelines, and cGMP. You will work with varying shifts and contribute to a safe, efficient workplace.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and company policies.
• Learn and recognize film, chip and corrugated codes.
• Operate trucks or assist with truck operations as needed.
• Complete pre-shift truck inspections and daily PM checklists.
• Place finished products correctly and maintain accurate material orders.
• Perform basic math to determine material needs for change-overs.
• Weigh scrap materials at shift end or during change-overs.
• Understand pallet types (A, B, Peco, Chep) and proper handling.
• Adhere to SOPs, cGMP, and food safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions

Job Responsibilities

• Compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
• Become familiar with film, chip and corrugated codes.
• Must show basic familiarity with truck operations.
• Be able to properly complete a pre-shift truck inspection, as well as complete P.M. checklist daily.
• Know the proper placement of all finished product.
• Basic math skills to accurately order material needed for change-over's.
• Weight scrap gaylords at the end of the shift or at any change-over's.
• Understands the difference between A, B, Peco and Chep pallets
• Follows established procedures including standard operating procedures (SOP's), cGMP, food safety regulations, and safety procedures

Work Environment Conditions Subjected To In This Position

• Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour
