Job summary

St. Francis High School is hiring an energetic Assistant Wrestling Coach for the 2026–2027 winter season to support the Head Wrestling Coach and Activities Director.

You will help instruct student-athletes in fundamentals, strategy, and sportsmanship while maintaining a safe, competitive team environment. The role requires wrestling experience, knowledge of NFHS/MSHSL rules, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Competitive wrestling experience at high school/collegiate level or proven coaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFHS/MSHSL rules, scoring, tactics and drills.
• Ability to demonstrate techniques on the mat and work with student-athletes.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Daily weekday practices, evening dual meets and Saturday tournaments are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in planning, organizing, and running daily varsity, JV, and developmental practices.
• Instruct wrestling techniques, drills, conditioning, and mat safety.
• Support game-day prep, dual meet coaching, and tournament mat management.
• Assist with weigh-ins, skin checks, equipment setup, Trackwrestling entry/monitoring, and bus supervision.
• Model positive leadership and ethical conduct per district values.
