Job summary

Storm Lake Community School District is seeking a 9th Grade Girls Basketball Coach to develop a competitive JV program focused on skill development, teamwork, confidence, and preparation for higher levels of competition. The coach will create a safe, inclusive environment while representing Storm Lake with integrity.

Qualifications

Required Licensure

All coaches (paid or volunteer) must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Coaching Endorsement through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BoEE).

Minimum requirements include:

• At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent
• CPR certification
• NFHS concussion training
• Mandatory reporter training
• Completion of an approved 55-hour coaching course (or equivalent coursework)

Authorization must remain current and in good standing. Candidates may be hired before obtaining authorization, but must complete all requirements and secure Iowa Coaching Authorization within a district-established timeline.

Terms of Employment

This is a stipend position for the designated season. Employment terms, salary, benefits, and evaluation procedures are established by the Storm Lake Community School District Board of Education and applicable agreements. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance and compliance with district policies and state and federal regulations.
