Job summary

IAMUS Consulting seeks a DevOps Engineer to implement scalable infrastructure on customer sites in Augusta, GA. You will automate deployments, manage AWS and edge infrastructure, and collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into robust platforms.

The role requires TS/SCI with CI poly clearance, strong Linux skills, and experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes. On-site work Tue–Sat with flexible scheduling. Competitive compensation included.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development with a related Bachelors degree, or 3+ years with a Masters, or 9+ years with a HS diploma.
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and their use in deployment/management.
• Experience deploying, scaling, and managing applications and OS on cloud and edge infrastructures.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other dev tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and Agile methodology understanding.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to work on customer site in Augusta, GA 5 days a week.

Job description

The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge in Linux systems administration, and a background in Big Data solutions, configuration management, automation, scripting, containers, and AWS. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our services. This role is based on-site in Augusta, GA with our Army customers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS
• Support development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure of on-premise and portable equipment
• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate their applications into the infrastructure
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues as necessary
• Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends, continuously exploring new ways to improve our infrastructure
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Security Clearance - Current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph level U.S. Government security clearance is required; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 5 years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development and Bachelors in related field; or 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in configuration management tools such as Terraform, and Ansible.
• Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and their application to deployment and management of infrastructure.
• Experience with application and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites.
• Must have a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications (i.e. Security ) or the ability to obtain before starting with the company.
• Must be able to work on customer site in Augusta, GA 5 days a week (full-time, 40 hours/week on customer site). Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with big data technologies like: Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc.
• Experience with containers EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform are a plus
• Prior experience or familiarity with Big Data Platforms or Data Lake architectures.

Salary at IAMUS Consulting varies based on location, education, skills, experience, as well as contract-specific affordability. The estimated salary range for this position is between $123,000 and $160,000. This estimate is one part of IAMUS Consulting's overall compensation package.
