Springfield-Greene County 911 Emergency Communications seeks qualified 911 Telecommunicators to handle urgent calls and coordinate responders in Springfield, MO.
You will work ten-hour shifts, participate in a comprehensive training program, and support police, fire, and EMS through calm, accurate dispatching and information entry.

NEW! pay improvements starting rate of pay for new hires is $22.21/hour, and increases to $23.32/hour after successful completion of 1-year training program.
Earn $1.00/hour - 2nd Shift Differential and $1.50/hour - 3rd Shift Differential pay. Candidates with directly related 911 Dispatch experience may be eligible for an additional step in pay. 911 Telecommunicators are scheduled for ten hour shifts, four days per work week, with varying shift start times throughout the 24-hour period. During training, employees may be required to work any shift to complete the tasks required to complete the training process. After completing the training process, employees will be assigned shifts according to a yearly shift bid process by seniority and staffing needs of the department. Is this acceptable?

Due to the flexible nature of the trainee's schedule during the first year, outside secondary employment or students actively enrolled in a seated class will not be approved while the candidate is in the training process. Online students will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Is this acceptable?

911 Telecommunicators are required to report to work in all-weather situations. 911 Telecommunicators must have a reliable means of transportation available which will allow them to get to work for any assigned shift including shifts scheduled on weekends and holidays, as well as periodic short-notice overtime assignments and during periods of inclement weather. Is this acceptable?
