Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Arizona Department of Education special education teaching certificate.
• Ability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
• May need to lift and/or transfer students weighing up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management services integral to IEP development.
• Deliver direct services as outlined in students' IEPs.
• Create a learning-conducive classroom environment.
• Plan and prepare lessons tailored to student needs.
• Maintain compliance records per federal and state regulations.

Skills

Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes

Knowledge of Peoria Unified School District policies

Knowledge of a variety of teaching methods

Skill in establishing effective working relations

Skill in operating a personal computer
