Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.

• Ability to communicate and work effectively with junior high school students.
• Must hold (or be willing to obtain): Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Must adhere to all district, conference, and AIA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices that teach fundamental volleyball skills, strategies, and conditioning.
• Supervise student-athletes at all times during practices, games, travel, and other team activities.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, respect, and positive sportsmanship.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration.
• Monitor academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes in accordance with district and AIA policies.
• Ensure proper care, inventory, and return of all school‑issued equipment and uniforms.
• Follow district and school policies related to student safety, conduct, and transportation.
• Report injuries, concerns, and incidents promptly to the Athletic Director.
• Serve as a positive role model for students, emphasizing character, effort, and responsibility both on and off the court.

Job Description

The Junior High Volleyball Coach is responsible for the development and oversight of the 8th grade girls’ volleyball program.
