Job summary

Mascenic Regional School Administrative Unit is seeking an 8th Grade Math Teacher for Thomaston Public Schools to implement district approved curriculum, monitor student progress, and create a safe, engaging learning environment.

The teacher will develop lesson plans, deliver instruction across core subjects as needed, assess students, communicate with parents, and participate in professional development to stay current with teaching methods and standards.

Qualifications

• Certification/License: State Certification as a Middle School Teacher.
• Bachelor's degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Masters degree preferred.
• Experience in middle school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers middle school curriculum consistent with district goals.
• Creates a safe, supportive classroom conducive to individualized or small group instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and translates them into effective learning experiences.
• Instructs students across core subjects as assigned, utilizing district standards.
• Conducts ongoing assessment and adjusts instructional methods to fit student needs.
• Communicates with students, parents and administration regarding progress and expectations.
• Maintains accurate records of student achievement and attendance.
