Job summary

Woodland Public Schools is seeking a long-term substitute for 8th grade math at Woodland Middle School. The position runs 7 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from September 11, 2026 to October 28, 2026, with duties including planning, instruction, assessment, and collaboration with staff.

The ideal candidate holds a Washington State teaching certificate with an Elementary/Middle Education or Math Endorsement and has experience with diverse student populations, strong classroom management,

Qualifications

Current Washington State teaching certificate with Elementary/Middle Education or Math Endorsement.
Proven classroom management.
Experience with middle school students.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, families and staff.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Ability to collaborate with a teaching team and paraeducators.

Responsibilities

Deliver instruction using prescribed curriculum and adapt to individual differences.
Be available to teach with little notice and relocate within buildings as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues and paraeducators to support student learning.
Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment and handle behavior constructively.
Engage families and communicate progress and needs.
Ensure attendance and adhere to district hours and expectations.
