Job summary

Hazel Crest School District 152.5 seeks an experienced basketball coach to lead the girls’ 8th-grade team. You will develop game plans, build team morale, and promote a positive, supportive culture within our school community.

Plan practices and games, recruit and mentor players, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators. This role offers competitive compensation under the Extra Duty Pay Schedule.

Qualifications

• 60 hours of college preferred or eight years of successful coaching experience.
• Coaching experience at the high school or middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of basketball rules and strategies.
• Strong background and skills in mentoring youth.
• Strong background in the development of middle school basketball program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a winning game plan, build team morale, and promote a positive and supportive team culture.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program for 8th-grade girls.
• Plan and conduct practices, games, and tournaments.
• Recruit, coach, and mentor team members.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administrators.
• Accompany the team to away games and tournaments as needed.
