Job summary

Adams 12 Five Star Schools in Thornton, CO is seeking qualified athletic coaches to lead program development, supervise students, and enforce district and CHSAA rules. Salary will be determined by the Athletic Coaches Salary Schedule and experience.

Applicants must hold AED/CPR, First Aid/CPR, CHSAA coaching registration, concussion certification, and pass the CHSAA Coaches Exam. Prior high school/college coaching experience is preferred.

• Head Coaches must hold a current AED/CPR certificate upon hire.
• Assistant coaches must hold First Aid/CPR or be willing to obtain.
• Coaches must be CDE licensed teachers or hold CHSAA coaches registration.
• Colorado coaches must hold concussion certification from NFHS/Children's Hospital Colorado upon hire.
• All coaches must pass the CHSAA annual Coaches Exam.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students and enforce district, school, league and CHSAA rules.
• Possess knowledge and skills in the specific sport.
• Plan, organize and direct the specific sport.
• Teach advanced techniques in the sport.
• Promote and follow Board/ Superintendent policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds and ensure safety.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:

• Head Coaches must hold a current certificate in AED/CPR upon hire.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Previous coaching experience and/or participation at the high school or college level is preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

• Ability to supervise students, enforce district, school, league and CHSAA rules and regulations.
• Possess knowledge and skills in the specific sport.
• Ability to plan, organize and successfully direct specific sport.
• Ability to perform, as well as teach, advanced techniques in specific sport.
• Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent Policies and building and department procedures.
• Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
• Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.

SALARY INFORMATION:
