Job summary

BASIS ED seeks a qualified 8th Grade Biology Teacher for the Phoenix Metro Area. The role requires delivering BASIS Curriculum, preparing subject-specific lesson plans, and facilitating high-level instruction in an interactive setting.

Preferred candidates hold a Master’s degree in subject matter or education and at least 2 years of teaching experience, with an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject matter with other degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans.
• Provide subject instruction at a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive learning environment.
• Design and implement BASIS Curriculum with creative lessons and assessments.
• Collaborate with BASIS teachers to develop curriculum and build a professional community.
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills to boost academic trajectory.
• Manage student behavior to foster achievement, responsibility, and respect.
• Support non-instructional duties such as Early Bird, Late Bird, and lunch.
• Maintain regular, full attendance and supervise students or groups.
