An established community health center is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to provide essential services to infants and toddlers facing developmental challenges. This role emphasizes family-centered care and utilizes innovative coaching models to empower families. The position involves both in-person and telehealth services across multiple counties, ensuring that interventions are seamlessly integrated into daily activities. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children and their families, this opportunity offers a rewarding environment with competitive compensation and a supportive team culture.
The ECI Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation, program planning, and direct services to infants and toddlers, 0-3 years old, who have developmental delays, certain medical diagnoses, or atypical development. All services are based on the family’s concerns and priorities and are provided in the child’s natural environment. All interactions with families and children use Trauma Informed Care principles and use the Coaching Model in the provision of services. The Coaching Model provides strategies and interventions, educational information, material, and emotional support to families while allowing families to have a voice and choice in the services. In ECI, the SLP is a member of an interdisciplinary team and may be the primary service provider or act as consultant to the family and other team members. Intervention is embedded in the typical activities of daily living for the child and family. This position requires travel, independence, and skills in oral motor, feeding, autism, and alternative communication as well as language acquisition and articulation.
The SLP for this position may work in any of the 6 counties ECI serves. The philosophy of the program and this position is to provide educational, material, and emotional support to families so the child can learn throughout the day in a variety of typical activities, and to support the attachment between the parent or primary caregiver and child. Services are provided in the setting where the child lives, learns, and plays. Services are provided in a hybrid model of in-person and telehealth.
