Job summary

Central School District 51 seeks a Head Coach for 7th Grade Volleyball to guide athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and conditioning. The role emphasizes character development, leadership, and safe, structured practices aligned with school policy and IESA rules.

The position emphasizes role modeling and mentoring while ensuring compliance with district safety standards and paperwork with timely reporting of injuries.

Qualifications

• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of volleyball.
• Successful completion of fingerprint-based background checks and screenings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
• Follow the District's approved policies.
• Know and abide by IESA regulations and district systems.
• Schedule season events, transportation and requirements for each event.
• Assist in preparation for events/practices and adhere to facility times.
• Mentor athletes to develop character traits: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship.
• Provide guidance and safeguards for participants during practices, games and travel.
• Communicate training rules and sport-specific regulations to athletes.
• Follow injury/medical/emergency procedures and protocols.
• Complete injury paperwork and submit to district office within 24 hours.
