Minimum Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • Ability to demonstrate student progress and articulate methods used.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or equivalent (required).
  • Valid Illinois 5-8 Math endorsement with 9 credit hours of higher education in General Science or equivalent (required).
  • ESL/Bilingual endorsement preferred.
  • Residency in Chicago not required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States (required).

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The role requires operating standard office equipment, maintaining files, and effective communication. Physical demands include standing, bending, reaching, stooping, walking, and lifting/pushing/pulling 15-20 lbs. Candidates must be able to walk up and down stairs multiple times daily. The work environment is a typical school setting, with extended and non-traditional hours, including participation in events and meetings.
