Job summary

Mansfield City Schools seeks a 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach for Mansfield Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The coach will instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training to achieve individual and team success while promoting character, discipline and school pride.

The role involves mentoring student athletes, monitoring grades and conduct, and coordinating with athletic directors and principals to ensure safe, compliant and effective sports programs.

Qualifications

• 1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• 2. Has previous successful coaching experience in basketball
• 3. The coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and keep current with new theories and procedures.
• 4. The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• 1. Knows and enforces Mansfield City Schools athletic policies and implements them with staff.
• 2. Follows system/state/league regulations and interprets them for staff.
• 3. Maintains proper administrative lines of command and handles requests through proper channels.
• 4. Performs other duties as assigned by the athletic director/principal.
• 5. Assists with scheduling, transportation and tournament requirements.
• 6. Prepares for and conducts practices, coordinating with facilities and staff.
• 7. Maintains documentation on injuries and medical needs within 24 hours.
