Job summary

Sumter County Middle School seeks a 7th/8th Grade Math Teacher to deliver instruction aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards and district curriculum.

The successful candidate will hold GaPSC Certification (HOLD or Eligible) and demonstrate strong classroom management, communication with students, parents and staff, and the ability to integrate technology into daily lessons in a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• GaPSC Certification required or eligible for
• Experience delivering instruction aligned with standards preferred
• Proven ability to follow district curriculum and policies
• Strong communication with students, parents, colleagues, and leadership
• Ability to integrate technology into instruction

Responsibilities

• Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on the district's curriculum
• Promotes active learning in the classroom
• Demonstrates knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment
• Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership
• Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
• Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
• Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities
• Prepares adequately for responsibilities when absent
• Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student’s educational program
• Facilitates home-school communication through conferences, calls, and written communications
• Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction
• Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
