HAZELWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE : Systems Analyst (Applications Support)

REPORTS TO : Director of Technology

POSITION SUMMARY : Performs duties to ensure the proper implementation and operation of the school district’s vast catalog of applications that support students, teachers, and staff. Work with the Curriculum Coordinators in supporting the applications used by teachers for classroom and / or virtual instruction. Will be working in conjunction with Senior Systems Analysts to provide backup and support to their current role.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

• Support and maintain “Clever”.
• Work with Curriculum and Instruction to help support teachers with various applications.
• Work with Curriculum and Instruction on developing and researching new applications.
• Work on integration of Tyler / SIS and Clever and the rostering of certain applications.
• Provide software support and application integration with various assessment software (. SRI, SRC, Aimsweb, eValuate, Destiny,
• Analyzes existing systems and performs necessary revisions
• Provides problem determination assistance and resolution
• Researches and tests new system implementations
• Works with other personnel as required for the maximum use of the networked systems

Marginal Functions

• Obtains quotes from vendors for new hardware / software
• Cross training with Certified Analyst to build capacity

Physical / Visual Activities or Demands : Physical / visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

• Walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping or crouching, crawling, talking, hearing.
• Normal attention with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and ability to ID and distinguish colors, required.

Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions : Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

Typical Inside Conditions. Travel between buildings is required.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education : Broad knowledge of a discipline such as computer science, involving the use of a broad theoretical knowledge equivalent to a complete college or university education, preferably in computer science or related field.

Experience : Requires a minimum of four years up to and including six years of experience in computer technology, including implementation and operation of network computer systems.

Skills and Abilities : Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position :

• Apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Perform the operations with like common and decimal fractions. Compute ratio, rate, and percent.
• Perform reading, writing, and speaking at an intermediate level.
• Demonstrated ability and personality to accept responsibility and work independently.
• Must possess positive, effective “people skills”.
