Job summary

Southeast Health in Dothan, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical Unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for adult and geriatric patients per hospital policy. The role requires strong clinical skills and adherence to standards, with focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.

Night shift 7:00 pm–7:00 am, full-time equivalent of 0.9 FTE. The unit includes East 2–7, and staff collaborate to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• ACLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support knowledge or certification (preferred).
• Experience with Basic Cardiac Life Support and intermediate EKG procedures (preferred).
• Competency requirements must be completed annually.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Care for adult and geriatric Medical/Surgical patients per policy.

Job Description Summary

The Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Services: uses the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care provided to individuals in the Medical/Surgical Unit (e.g., 2 East, 3 East, 4 East, 5 East, 6 East, 7 East). Actively accepts, understands, and practices appropriate standards of Medical/Surgical nursing. Actively supports the mission, vision, and values of the hospital and department. Performs various activities related to the needs of adult and geriatric Medical/Surgical patients in accordance with the hospital’s established policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current RN license in the state

LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English

SKILLS:

• Successful course completion in Basic Cardiac Life Support;
• Successful course completion of institutional Intermediate EKG Course;
• Annual completion of competency requirements;
• Successful completion of Advance Cardiac Life Support course preferred; with exception of Special Procedures - where this is required ;
• Experience in operating personal computers, including operation of computer software in a Windows environment ( preferred ).
