Position Summary

A Shift Lead manages the operations of a shift and leads the on‑shift crew, providing correction, encouragement, guidance, and redirection to ensure our values, product, and service remain uncompromised in the Manager’s absence. A Shift Lead exemplifies our values and culture both on and off the clock, acting as a reliable, stable leader the team can lean on during stressful situations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Converse with customers to confirm drink orders and enter them accurately into the point‑of‑sale system.
• Be knowledgeable of all recipes and secret menu items.
• Know all stand processes and procedures.
• Take full responsibility for shift operations and energy—including drink quality, customer interaction, speed, music, etc.
• Make changes when necessary.
• Communicate with the stand management team about personnel, equipment, inventory levels, and operations.
• Assist the stand management team with training and development of team members.
• Collect payments for orders and count back change to customers accurately.
• Prepare all drinks and premixes.
• Move with urgency, honoring the customer’s time.
• Stay productive and proactive throughout the shift, even when business is slow.
• Make personal connections with customers through genuine interactions, warm smiles, and positive body language.
• Know the menu and drink customizations inside and out, noticing when a customer may not be ordering what they truly want and helping them correctly order their desired drink, offering suggestions when appropriate.
• Brings best self to work: good hygiene, plenty of sleep, clean clothes, appropriate hair/makeup; dresses appropriately for their assigned positions.
• Be familiar with shift change duties, checklists, and weekly chores.
• Always be clocked in and ready when the shift begins.
• Treat teammates and customers with respect and kindness.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organizational standards and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

• Climb a ladder and use a step ladder.
• Sit, stand, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean.
• Safely walk between and around cars in the drive‑through lane.
• Safely use a utility knife.
